Thought i would just make this thread as a work in.
My husband is japanese (his mum is japanese and his dad is australian), and we are having a baby girl. I have been collecting not very long compiling a list of links and nowhere to really dump them. I put together what i believe is a comprehensive list of all of the free online resources to learn japanese, including video, audio, apps, courses, dictionaries, websites, textbooks. 110k subscribers in the japanese community.
According to ethnologue, japanese is the 9th largest language in the world by number of speakers. Besides japanese, i've also studied english, chinese, and korean :3) with the experience of learning from previous languages plus the past 1 month of trying and studying, let's see how i can learn this.
